This conference brings together scholars working on early Christian apocalyptic traditions across a wide range of linguistic, cultural, and religious context s. Particular attention will be given to the transmission and transformation of apocalyptic texts, as weil as to the broader dynamics of apocalyptic discourse beyond the limits of literary genre.
The conference explores both textual and non-textual dimensions of apocalypticism, including historiography, homiletics, liturgy, hagiography, ritual practices , and visual culture . Papers will address the fluidity of apocalyptic traditions and their transmission across diverse linguistic, cultural , and religious environments.
A variety of methodological approaches will be represente d, combining philological and manuscript-based research with literary, historical, theological, and cultural analy sis. The conference also aims to foster dialogue on the movement of apocalyptic ideas across religious boundaries and media of transmission.
